BREAKING NEWS: Indielab Innovation Awards 2025 Celebrate the Future of UK TV and Content Creation
From Dept. Q to Groomed: A National Scandal, the inaugural awards recognised the UK’s most innovative indies shaping the future of television.
The first-ever Indielab Innovation Awards took place on 13 November 2025 in Canary Wharf, London, celebrating the boldest and most imaginative content shaping the future of UK television.
The ceremony followed the GrowthLab London 2025 conference, which took place earlier that day, bringing together leading commissioners, creators, and indies for panels and talks on the future of content creation.
Hosted by comedian Ria Lina, the event marked Indielab’s 10-year anniversary and celebrated producers and creators pushing boundaries across all platforms. From Dept. Q to Guardians and Groomed: A National Scandal, every category recognised talent going the extra mile to deliver exciting, original storytelling.
Indielab Founder and CEO Victoria Powell said:
“On our tenth anniversary, this first edition of the Innovation Awards marks the beginning of what we hope will become an important and much-anticipated industry celebration. The range of work has been extraordinary: fresh narrative forms, powerful stories, and remarkable talent. It’s a testament to the ingenuity and resilience of the UK indie community.”
The evening took place against the backdrop of London’s Docklands, with guests enjoying drinks and canapés before the ceremony, which celebrated outstanding work across documentary, drama, branded entertainment, multi-screen content, and other remarkable categories.
